As a Calgary family photographer, there’s nothing more meaningful to me than documenting families I’ve walked alongside for years. This warm, golden summer evening family session took place at Jeff & Damiane’s farm just outside of Calgary and felt like a true full-circle moment.

I first photographed these two during their engagement session, then on their wedding day, and now, as parents, welcoming their new baby into their lives. Being invited back to capture this next chapter is something I never take lightly.

A Relaxed Family Session Outside Calgary

Their farm was glowing in that soft summer light that only shows up for a fleeting window on a summer evening. Tall grass, open skies, and the comfort of being at home set the tone for a relaxed, unposed family session. Their dog kept watch nearby, their new kitten made a few surprise appearances, and their baby was held close, no pressure, no expectations, just real life unfolding.

This is always my goal with family photography: creating space for moments to happen naturally, especially during such a tender season.
