Orchard
What I love about Orchard
Orchard restaurant in downtown Calgary is one of my favourite wedding venues. I’ve been lucky to shoot a few weddings at Orchard and they’re always spectacular. The location is perfect for that downtown vibe, with lots of interesting photo locations within walking distance and a variety of hotels nearby for your guests to stay or for getting ready. The natural light beaming in and reflecting through all of the crystal chandeliers and plants creates a modern, elegant atmosphere. There is a floor to ceiling bar that spans a whole wall of the restaurant so you know the cocktails are going to be fantastic. The staff are so attentive and will make sure you and your guests feel pampered and never have an empty glass. Last but not least, the food. I still dream of a tomato and burrata salad I had at Orchard a few years ago, that’s how good it was. anything you choose to add to your menu will wow your guests.
The Nash
What I love about The Nash
The Nash is a Calgary staple. Located in Inglewood, it offers so many photo opportunities and locations nearby which can eliminate the need to plan for transportation on your wedding day. Once inside the Nash, the decor is modern with a classic twist. The fireplace in the dining room is the perfect backdrop for your ceremony and creates a cozy ambience. Later, you can take head to Offcut Bar. It’s dark walls and moody lighting gives an amazing vibe for your dance party. The food at the Nash is definitely some of the best in Calgary. I had the mushroom risotto last time I was there and I’ve been trying to recreate it ever since. Whether its an intimate dinner party vibe or a rowdy party with all your friends, The Nash is the perfect choice of venue for your Calgary wedding.

Deane House
What I love about Deane House
Deane House is a historical house, turned restaurant located in downtown Calgary near Inglewood. There are so many options to host your wedding at the Nash. During the warm summer months there is a beautiful clear tent et up outside that allows you and yours guests to enjoy the lush gardens. If you’re looking for an intimate space for your small wedding or elopement the library upstairs is an amazing choice. The dark panelled walls, bookcases and private bar give a very elegant and old school vibe. Downstairs the windows and checkered flooring give a cool old school touch. The food at Deane House is absolutely amazing and I’m always excited when I get to enjoy a wedding meal here. Their brunch is legendary so if you’re considering something a little different a brunch wedding (with mimosas of course) could be a really cool option.

River Cafe
What I love about River Cafe
I’ve been dying to shoot another wedding at River Cafe. It’s such a cool venue and it gives a rustic, cabin vibe with the city and Prince’s Island Park as your backdrop. The wood walls and rustic decor make you feel like you’re in the mountains. There’s a big stone patio that is an amazing spot for your ceremony. With the river in the background and the city skyline peaking out from behind all of the trees it makes for epic photos. The wedding I shot was ini the fall and the colours were so stunning. River Cafe is known for its gourmet food and the bread basket is something legends are made of. There are so many amazing photo spots nearby in Prince’s Island Park which makes the day so chill. Something to be aware of is the construction at Eau Claire which may impact parking and transportation for your guests. And another thing to take into consideration is that there are often festivals and events in the park, so definitely check out the events calendar before booking your date.
The Lake House
What I love about the Lake House
I’ve shot many weddings at the Lake House over my years as a wedding photographer in Calgary and I‘ve loved every singe one. It’s a classic on the Calgary restaurant scene and the food is amazing. It’s huge windows, with views of the lake and massive stone fireplace give a very elegant and classic vibe. It’s a blank canvas so you can make it our own. The Lake House is well oiled machine so they know exactly how to make sure that things run smoothly on your wedding day. I love heading to Fish Creek Park for photos. It’s close to the venue and has the beautiful mix of tall grass and trees that Calgary is known for. The Lake House is a great choice if you’re planning a wedding in Calgary.

Flores and Pine is located just outside Calgary, near Bearspaw. It’s got modern rustic decor including the most stunning herringbone wood flor. It’s got fireplaces inside and a massive fireplace outside, perfect for an outdoor ceremony. One amazing thing about Flores and Pine is that they have a beautiful getting suite upstairs, perfect for those last minute touchups. The food is delicious and the cocktails are next level.
